Tomato, tom-ahto, potato, pot-ahto. Or is it?

Confused about the difference in a Stakeholder & a Shareholder? Let's make it easy!

A Shareholder is anyone with shares in the company. That means investors, possible co-Founders, possibly you, employees in an ESOP, anyone in an equity pool, lenders of a convertible note (after the loan triggers to convert to equity. No shares? Not a Shareholder. Plain and simple.

A Stakeholder is anyone who is invited to view or use your WE.VESTR account. They could be an investor, a co-Founder, your CFO, your HR Director, your lawyer, an accountant, an advisor, a potential investor, or event a highly capable pet fish. Anyone who is invited to your account is a Stakeholder in your equity management story. That means a Stakeholder could be a Shareholder, but doesn't have to be.

Tip💡

Remember, WE.VESTR's pricing is based on Stakeholders, not Shareholders.
